Vice Mayor Jonalina “Dada” Reyes : A Journey of Leadership, Dedication, and Public Service

Her political career began in 2007 when she was elected as Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman of Barangay San Vicente in Biñan. Even at a young age, Reyes demonstrated strong leadership by initiating programs focused on youth empowerment, sports development, and education. Her dedication and performance eventually earned her the trust of fellow youth leaders, leading to her election as Federation President of the Sangguniang Kabataan in Biñan City. This role granted her an ex-officio seat in the Sangguniang Panlungsod, providing her with early exposure to legislative work and public governance.
In 2016, Reyes formally entered city politics after being elected as City Councilor of Biñan. Throughout her years in the City Council, she became known for championing measures centered on education, women’s welfare, health services, and youth development. Her consistent performance, accessibility, and responsiveness to her constituents enabled her to earn the continued trust of the people, securing her re-election and allowing her to serve until 2025.
Parallel to her role as City Councilor, Reyes also served as President of the Philippine Councilors League Laguna Chapter from 2016 to 2025. During her three consecutive terms, she represented councilors across the province and worked toward strengthening legislative leadership and cooperation among local government officials. As PCL President, she also became an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Laguna, giving her the opportunity to participate in provincial policymaking and governance initiatives.
In July 2025, Jonalina “Dada” Reyes assumed office as Vice Mayor of Biñan City. As Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, she plays a vital role in ensuring the passage of responsive ordinances and maintaining the balance between legislation and governance. Under her leadership, the city legislature continues to focus on policies that promote transparency, public welfare, and sustainable development.
Her political journey—from SK Chairman of Barangay San Vicente, to City Councilor, to PCL Laguna Chapter President and Provincial Board Member, and now Vice Mayor—stands as an inspiring example of grassroots leadership built on experience, accountability, and service.
More than titles and positions, Vice Mayor Reyes’ career embodies a leadership style grounded in integrity, dedication, and genuine concern for the welfare of Biñanenses. Her story serves as a reminder that meaningful public service begins with commitment to the community and grows through years of hard work, trust, and consistent action for the common good.
