Biñan is a very old community that has been growing and evolving over the past three centuries, during which its leaders have continuously adapted to the town’s, then city’s changing demands and directions. The most dramatic and most rapid transformations perhaps took place during the past decade when Biñan became a city, during which time the sitting mayors not only had to step up with the high performance expected of a city, but also deal with the problems that come with urbanization like pollution, congestion, waste disposal, inadequacy of service facilities for the fast-growing population, rising criminality and social ills, and so on.

Mayor Walfredo R. Dimaguila Jr. and Vice Mayor Angelo B. Alonte are continuing the good programs of their predecessor, Mayor Marlyn B. Alonte-Naguiat, and those who went before them. They also to come up with new strategies and more effective programs to respond to the cityhood’s increasing demands. Every day there is a challenge, but with every success in meeting a challenge, there is the hope that the city and its people will be better than before.

The City of Biñan faces every obstacle with optimism and resolve, that every step brings it closer to the attainment of its development goals and to living its vision as the City of Life.

Amidst all of these, Inang Biñan is surely happy with the advancement of her people, as they celebrate their glorious past and look forward to a bright future.
